Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the 59th busiest in the world in terms of passenger traffic and serves Manila and the surrounding metropolitan area.

The original airport for the Manila area was opened in July 1937 on Nielsen Field. This airport’s runaways today function as the two of the major roads in Makati City. This is due to the fact that after the Philippines achieved independence the airport was moved to the position it currently resides on next to Villamore Airbase.

Over the years several modifications were made including the building of the airport’s international runway in 1954 and the reconstruction of a terminal that was damaged in a fire. In 1981 a new higher capacity terminal was constructed and this became the airport’s primary international terminal as is known as Terminal 1 today. The original structure was used as a domestic terminal with the advent of the new building, but this did not last as the structure was eventually damaged in a fire.

In 1989 plans were conceived to for the construction of two new terminals to supplement Terminal 1 and these two structures were completed in 1998.

The airport provides a variety of facilities for passengers who pass through its walls. Terminal 1 houses a variety of dining options including several restaurants, snack bars and coffee shops that allow guests at the airport to indulge in a meal. A duty free is also on offer and is accessed via a shuttle bus service that is provided by the airport itself.  In addition the airport also has a sauna, salon, medical centers, chapels and a pharmacy.

For business travelers a comprehensive suite of business services is also on offer.  Conference and business facilities are provided in the form of the executive lounge that even features its own showers.

As a hotel in Manila near the Airport, the Heritage Hotel offers convenient access to this vital destination which is equally important whether travelling on business or leisure. In addition to being close to the Manila airport, hotel guests can also access several other key attractions in the city.
