The Hives are a punk rock band hailing from Sweden who are renowned for their stripped-back and energetic garage sound.

While they formed in 1993, they did not really break into the mainstream until around a decade later.

Album Veni Vidi Vicious, was released and was a major international success, featuring their most well-known song Hate to Say I Told You So.

They are currently on the road in celebration of their 20th anniversary as a group.

On March 24th, they are due to travel to New York to play a gig at the Irving Plaza.

Entry prices start at $32 plus booking fees - and visitors to the city who are looking for a place to stay would be well advised to consider booking rooms at the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel.

The accommodation is a mere two miles from the venue - and the distance can be covered in a car in around ten minutes.
