Visitors to Kuala Lumpur should make sure they take in the National Science Centre, known locally as Pusat Sains Negara.

The centre is spread over eight hectares of landscaped ground at Bukit Kiara, in the north-western part of the city.

It was established in 1996 to help enhance understanding and interest in science and technology in the city and features nine galleries of scientific exhibitions which aim to both educate and entertain.

The architecture of the building is also interesting, featuring a fusion of modern and Islamic design.

Inside the centre, visitors can be enchanted by the Space Science Show and Sky Movie, which both feature on a dome screen with a 20-metre diameter.

There is also an overhead tropical freshwater aquarium located in the centre.

So make sure you get a bit of scientific education outside of your Kuala Lumpur hotel and head to the National Science Centre.
