It is the multicultural facet of Kuala Lumpur that makes this city fascinating. The shiny face of the Petronas Towers that dominates the skyline is a constant reminder of the great leaps and bounds this country has traversed from its tin mining days. With everything that is new fangled and glamorous about the city, beneath the surface one can still find a deep sense of tradition and culture. In a city filled with many opportunities, places to see and places to shop the Central Market Kuala Lumpur holds a very significant place.

The Central Market in Kuala Lumpur is considered by many to be the best place in town to experience Malaysian culture, arts and craft. Formerly a wet market where vegetables, meat and fish were sold, the Central Market is today a beautiful building and a must see attraction if you're visiting Kuala Lumpur for the first time.

Located close to many popular Kuala Lumpur hotels, the Central Market features stalls that sell a wide variety of goods such as handicrafts, souvenirs and art at very reasonable prices. The Central Market hosts plenty of talented Malaysian artists who display their works of art and visitors can even have their portrait painted or even have intricate glass souvenirs specially made for them by the glass blowers.

Located just outside the Central Market Kuala Lumpur is a riverside amphitheatre, a venue where traditional Malaysian dance displays, wayang kulit (shadow puppet) shows and many more types of modern entertainment are displayed.
