Location & Attractions|Penang Butterfly FarmThe sanctuary which came into being in 1986 is a popular tourist attraction and is open from 9 am till 5 pm on weekdays and till 6 pm on weekends. The entrance fee inclusive of tax, for an adult is RM 15.00 while it’s only RM 7.50 for a child. A camera is a must at the Butterfly Farm, though an additional amount needs to be paid, since there are countless varieties of pretty butterflies to capture. The natural habitat shelters colorful as well as country specific butterflies like the Raja Brooke in Malaysia. In addition to which some of the rare and endangered butterflies like the Indian Leaf and the Yellow Bird-wing are also to be found. Simultaneously, a visitor can enjoy a range of other creatures and reptiles like snakes, scorpions, frogs, and lizards in addition to the glittering view of the butterflies at the Mini Zoo in the Penang Butterfly Farm. In addition to being charmed by a stylish blue Helena, there are many more things to be excited about at the Penang Butterfly Farm. The Art & Artifact Gallery being the largest in Southeast Asia and the Caterpillar club for the learners are just two to be mentioned. The gift and souvenir shop at the Butterfly Farm will not allow their visitor’s to leave without a souvenir in memory of the gorgeous butterflies. Some of the souvenirs that can be purchased are the crystal paperweight, key chains and the glass replication of creatures.
