Anyone booking a New York hotel room at a venue such as the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel New York can check out an exciting range of talks taking place at the Tenement Museum in April and May.

The ongoing series of events - held at the museum which served as a real tenement building for immigrants in Manhattan's Lower East Side after being constructed in 1863 - will next occur on April 2nd.

On that date, Kat Long will be talking about New York's often-taboo sexual history over the past 100 years.

Forbidden Apple: A Century of Sex and Sin in New York City will see the expert discussing developments involving brothels, burlesque and sex in the Big Apple throughout the 20th century.

Then on April 7th, poet Stephen Wolf will be at hand to celebrate National Poetry Month with several readings from Whitman, Ginsberg and other modern writers.

In May, award-winning author Colm Toibin will be previewing his latest novel and Babycakes proprietress Erin McKenna will be sharing recipes for vegan and gluten-free treats from her bakery.
