News|Simon to re-open New York's Beacon TheatreMusician Simon, who was raised in Kew Gardens, New York City, will be performing at the restored venue in two concerts on February 13th and 14th. For the last seven months, MSG Entertainment has been conducting an extensive $15 million refurbishment of the iconic theatre hall, which is one of New York's most cherished cultural establishments, according to James Dolan. The Chairman of Madison Square Garden (MSG) said: "Our state-of-the-art venues in New York City will continue to create memorable experiences for all of our patrons. "There is no better person to help us reopen the Beacon than the celebrated singer/songwriter and New Yorker, Paul Simon." Selected in 2006 as one of 100 "people who shaped our world" by Time magazine, Simon is perhaps still best remembered for his fruitful partnership with Art Garfunkel. Tickets for the shows, which are both due to start at 8pm, are on sale now - they are priced between $79.50 and $264.50.
