Hip-hop maestro Lil Wayne is gearing up to drop some beats at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, just outside of New York City.

The New Orleans-born rapstar will be joined by Keisha Cole, T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes and Keri Hilson for the gig.

He will be playing in support of his sixth album, the absolutely massive Tha Carter III, which was widely regarded as one of the best releases of any genre in 2008.

The top-selling album of the year in the US with more than 2.8 million sales, that record featured the hits Mr Carter (featuring Jay-Z), A Milli, Got Money, Mrs Officer and Lolipop.

He recently announced a possible collaboration album with rapper Juelz Santana, an R&B release entitled Luv Sawngz and a new installment of his Dedication mixtape series.
