News|Gipsy Kings visit New YorkOne of the most successful French bands of all time, the legendary musicians will perform at the venue on February 17th. Famous for their music above all else, the shy troupe will be giving the Big Apple a taste of their progressive pop-flavored flamenco music. Made up of eight members from the communities in Arles and Montpellier, the Gipsy Kings were children of original Spanish gitanos, forced to flee the country during the Civil War. They have sold more than 18 million albums around the world, popularizing their unique brand of flamenco music and creating new music that I perfect for salsa and rumba dances. Their last album, Pasajero, was released in 2006 and featured a Rumba Flamenca sound. However, the Gipsy Kings released a greatest hits compilation last year, which has renewed interest in the musically gifted group. Tickets, on sale now, range from $39.50 to $79.50 in price. The show is scheduled to start at 8pm. Book now for your next getaway in New York at Millennium UN Plaza Hotel New York
