On November 2nd, Magnolia Electric Co will be playing at The Bluebird in St Louis, with support from Bottomless Pit and Tre Orsi.

Centered on the creative talents of low-fi indie stalwart Jason Molina, the band has released two studio albums, What Comes after the Blues and Fading Trials, both of which were well received.

They also put out a live album in 2005 entitled Trials and Errors, which was in fact Molina's first release under the Magnolia Electric Co name.

The sound of the band is immediately reminiscent of Neil Young and Crazy Horse, a fact that can only work in Molina's favour. After all, there are not many people around who deserve comparison to Young.

Last year, Magnolia Electric Co stepped up their game with the release of Sojourner, a box-set made up of three full-length albums; one four-song EP; a DVD documentary entitled The Road Becomes What You Leave; a celestial map and a medallion.

The impressive release is made up of material recorded during the four sessions it took Molina and co to finish Fading Trails.
