The tree lined Boulevard Haussman is the location of Paris's favorite department stores, Galeries Lafayette and Au Printemps. Like much of Boulevard Haussman's other buildings and luxury apartments, the stores are built in typical French architectural style, which gives a sense of regularity to the avenue.
The Galeries Lafayette department store is a historical landmark. Constructed during the 19th century, the store has been open in Paris for well over a hundred years. Similarly, Au Printemps is located in a historical building, which was erected in 1865 and features elegant sculptures on its exterior. A notable feature of Au Printemps is the exquisite stained glassed cupola, just above the main restaurant. Further along the street, visitors can view a collection of rare French furnishings at Musee Jacquemart-Andre.
