On November 21st, ambient specialists Stars of the Lid will be performing at the trendy club (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York.

The show, which is scheduled to start at 10pm, will see the instrumental duo casting droning, minimalist dreamscapes, a la Brian Eno.

They will be supported by Hammock, an up-and-coming ambient post-rock band from Nashville, in Tennessee.

There will also be solo piano performances of works by Shostakovich, Bach and John Cage during the night, which is presented by Wordless Music series of classical and contemporary instrumental music.

Stars of the Lid, who are signed to the famous Chicago-based indie label Kranky, released their seventh studio LP - Stars of the Lid and Their Refinement of the Decline - in April 2007.

The two-disc release received high praise from critics for its compositions of guitar, horn, piano and other classical instruments.
