Coffee -loving travellers may be pleased to hear of a new luxury shop in New York.

Visitors to the Millennium Broadway Hotel in the city may like to go along to Jittery Joe's at LIM College's Maxwell Hall, which is open to the public as well as students.

This represents the thirteenth Jittery Joe's opening - others are located across the country - with the original store being based in Athens Georgia, Reuters reported.

Commenting on the new outlet, Michael Ripps, president of the coffee company, said something that may whet the appetite of those visiting the area: "Over the past 15 years, we have established a reputation of serving great -tasting coffee, roasted daily in Athens using some of the finest coffee beans in the world."

He went on to express his excitement that the business will be able to share its produce with the people of New York.

Jittery Joe's was first located next to the 40 Watt club in Athens and had famous clientele including REM's Michael Stipe, the B-52s and Penn and Teller.

The store was once named one of the best coffee houses in the US by Rolling Stone Magazine.
