From October 11th until April 2009, the Nasvhille Predators will be competing in the new season of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The city's premier ice hockey team hosts their home games at the Sommet Center, and can be seen beginning their home campaign on the 11th, when they play the Dallas Stars.

The Predators ply their trade in the Western Conference's central division, which also features Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings and St Louis Blues.

Although Nashville has never won a Stanley Cup, they will be hoping to go far in the play-offs this year, having fallen at the conference quarter-finals on the last four attempts, most recently losing 2-4 to the Red Wings.

But to have a shot, they first need to qualify for post-season, and will be looking to call on star winger Steve Sullivan, who returns after missing last season through injury.

Sullivan holds the franchise record for goals in a season (31) along with former team-mate Paul Kariya.

Those wishing to watch the Predators play at Sommet Center can book into a Nashville hotel for convenient accommodation.
