News|Millennium Nashville for America's musicThe Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville (CMHF) is one of only 750 that reserve this distinction. This certification allows the institute to operate to the highest standards and provide top quality service to those who patronize it. Inside the museum is a treasure trove of historic memorabilia in keeping with the cultural importance of country music and is illustrated by video, audio, state-of-the-art design and dynamic exhibits. There are also regular live performances, broadcasts and in-house dining to create an unmissable museum experience. The CMHF has been the home of America's music since 1967 and the current, permanent building was opened in May 2001 at a cost of $37 million as part local history museum and part international arts organization. Its appearance on the skyline adds to the aesthetics of downtown Nashville's entertainment district and is within a stone's throw of the renowned Ryman Auditorium on the West Bank of the Cumberland River. Like any other museum, the CMHF is dedicated to preserving the past of its heritage and nurturing the evolution of its future.
