House Nashville, will provide easy access to this Nashville dining and entertainment destination
which should not be missed by lovers of country music.
Bluebird Cafe presents an interesting location in downtown Nashville to enjoy the soothing sound
of song.
Featuring a rich history the club offers an array of performers and their songs for the benefit
of its patrons. Originally conceived as a restaurant with the occasional musical performance, today
the focus has shifted to being a music venue first and a restaurant second.
Bluebird Café is famous for its intimate and acoustic performances which involve artists
performing with a minimal of supporting instruments. Generally performers at the club are only
assisted with a solo guitar or a piano. There is no doubt that acoustics is where the emphasis is
placed on at the club. Another rule that is generally upheld in the café is that artists do not
play cover songs and must have their own original content.
Bluebird Café has gained a reputation for providing the best original country music and
acoustic music seven days a week. New writers must first pass an audition process before they are
allowed to play on the Sunday night show. The entrance for this special performance on Sunday
nights is free and as an additional benefit there is usually a special hit songwriter performing as
the finale.
Though the café started out with limited musical performances, over time more people began to
discover the Bluebird Café and wanted to perform there. The fame of the café really sprang to light
when some of its regular performers began to land record deals and yet still continued to play at
the café attracting more guests and performers. It is for this reason that the café eventually
became one of the most sought out Nashville venues to play in.
Bluebird Café features a very intimate and private atmosphere as it features just 21 tables
which are available by reservation only, though for certain shows there are an additional 25 spaces
around the club that are available on a first come first served basis. Due to strong demand for
these limited places, it is advisable to come to the café early, if not making reservations.
To make reservations, visitors can call on (615) 383-1461 between 11:00am and 4:30pm on
weekdays.
The café’s food offerings include light fare that is still substantial. Guests have the
option to choose from a range of different appetizers, entrees and even desserts. The offerings of
the menu tend to change with time, but can include items such as Baked Brie and Fried Mozzarella
sticks for appetizers, a selection of sandwiches for entrees while chocolate chunk cheesecake and
key lime pie are options for dessert.
