Post-rock specialists Mogwai will be turning their amps up to 11 when they visit First Avenue in Minneapolis later this month.

On September 27th, the Scottish band will be performing tracks from their up-coming album, The Hawk Is Howling, which is due for release on the 22nd of this month.

They will also delve into their rich back catalogue to pick out some rough-edged gems such as Christmas Steps, Ratts of the Capital, 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong and Summer.

If the crowd is lucky, they will finish with My Father, My King, a 20 minute epic that is based on the melody of a Jewish holiday prayer that truly redefines the word 'loud'.

The Hawk is Howling features the songs I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead, Batcat, Thank You Space Expert and Scotland's Shame, all of which Mogwai have been performing at live shows this year.

Anyone wishing to attend the gig should check in to a Minneapolis hotel for convenient accommodation. Make sure to pack some earplugs though!
