Art-lovers heading to a Minneapolis hotel next month may be tempted to visit the Powderhorn Art Fair.

This year marks the 17th anniversary of the event which takes place in the picturesque surroundings of Powderhorn Park.

Minneapolis hotels are full of artists who travel to the city from places across the US to take part in the two-day festival.

White tents are pitched in the park and around the lake to showcase the work of the artists involved.

As well as having the chance to pick up a unique piece of art, visitors can expect to see performances from theatre groups and musicians.

Action starts on August 2nd, although the park itself makes for a great attraction at any time of the year.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board uses the site to host several popular events and festivals. Every July an Independence Day celebration is held – which features a firework display – and earlier in the year the May Day Festival provides ample entertainment to visitors.
