From October 22nd to 27th, big-wig directors and producers in Hollywood will take a break from making next year's multi-million dollar summer blockbusters to check out some of today's hottest emerging talent.

The Hollywood Film Festival provides everyone with a chance to check out new features, shorts and animated films from some of the most exciting and edgy up-and-coming filmmakers.

Up to 50 films will be selected as festival finalists and will be screened at venues across Hollywood. After the screenings, there will be a presentation of the Hollywood Film Awards.

Last year, the awards were presented by Janet Jackson and Brad Pitt, and many celebrities can be spotted attending screenings in their local cinematic establishments.

In the last five years, the festival has recognised features, shorts and animated films that went on to received 54 nominations at the Oscars and 16 awards.

Those wishing to attend can book into a Los Angeles hotel for the duration of their stay in the city, the heart of US cinema.
