One exhibition in Los Angeles (LA) may appeal to those who are fascinated by creepy crawlies.

The Spider Pavilion at the LA Natural History Museum is a display of arachnids in a landscaped area of the institution.

Visitors, including those staying at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, will be able to learn all about the insects at the programming area, as well as discovering the museum's free-range spiders, who are allowed to weave their webs throughout the pavilion.

Those who go along to the exhibit may look forward to encountering a giant wood spider, the largest species of orb weaving arachnids, which can create webs of up to ten feet in diameter.

Meanwhile, the golden silk spider may appeal to those interested in the fabric, since this species produces some of the strongest biological fibres known to man.

Others include the jewel garden spider and the common orb weavers, among many others.

Girls may be less likely to enjoy the experience, if a new study is to believed.

According to a report in Science News, girls are able to discern the fear spiders and snakes instill in others before they reach one year old, researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg discovered.
