Next month sees the dramatic conclusion of the 2008 Major League Baseball (MLB) season, the fiftieth in which the Los Angeles Dodgers have participated.

The team, who play at Dodger Stadium in LA, will be hoping they have enough left in the tank to celebrate their golden anniversary in style by winning the National League West for the first time since 2004 and returning to post-season after missing out last year.

They currently lie second in the NLW, with two wins less than the Arizona Diamondbacks. The tough division is also made up of the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres.

The Dodgers have won the World Series on six occasions throughout their history, the most recent coming in 1988. They also have nine west division championships.

As the season draws to an end, Los Angeles are scheduled for tough away trips to Pittsburgh Colorado, but will be hoping to rack up some wins when they invite San Diego and San Francisco to the Dodger Stadium.
