The Durham Art Guild (DAG) is extending an invitation to art lovers from all over to join in celebration of its 16th annual fundraising event with a Sweet Sixteen-theme.

Including an exhibition of regionally and nationally recognised works, the event will take place next month, on Saturday February 7th.

Between 8pm and 11pm, there will be live and silent auctions for artworks at the Durham Arts Council Building; DAG will also be providing delicious sweets from the Triangle and gifts from other local businesses.

Professional art auctioneer and provost of Duke University, Peter Lange, will be the master of ceremonies, presiding over auctions of works by the likes of Barkley Hendricks, Laura Farrow, Shannon Bueker, Bonnie Campbell and James Porter.

The Carolina Theatre, Durham Performing Arts Center, North Carolina Symphony and Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club are among the companies backing the event with other auction prizes.

Until February 1st, DAG will be displaying an installation by Ben Bruzga entitled Wasted and recent works in clay by Mark Gordon at its galleries.
