One of the most famous places in Qatar is the impressive Doha Golf Club, which holds a number of top class tournaments each year.

The Qatar Masters has been a permanent fixture on the PGA European Tour circuit since 1998 and the world's top players have become very familiar with the 18-hole course.

Professional players and golf enthusiasts travel to Doha every February for the high profile competition and the 2012 version of the event was eventually won by Scotland's Paul Lawrie.

As well as the international standard course, the venue also boasts a smaller nine-hole academy course, a huge driving range and a stunning clubhouse that has been built in a traditional Arabian style.

Players who take on the main course will not be surprised to find that it is extremely challenging. Indeed, it has flummoxed some of the finest golfers on the PGA tour in the past and you really need to be on top of your game in order to end up with a respectable score.
