Indie-pop maestro Matthew Sweet will be making an appearance at the Madison Theatre in Cincinnati next month, as he embarks upon a nationwide tour in support of his latest album.

Sunshine Lies is the veteran rocker's tenth studio long player, and sees Sweet backed by an all-star ensemble including legends Robert Quine and Richard Lloyd.

It is considered by many to be a return to the form that catapulted him to the top in the early 90s - the period between 1991's Girlfriend and 1995's 100% Fun, when everything Sweet touched was golden.

He will be performing at the Madison on November 1st, and will likely play power-pop hits such as Girlfriend, Sick of Myself and We're the Same alongside his newer tracks.

The talented guitarist was at the centre of the indie-rock movement that took over Athens, Georgia, in the late 80s and early 90s, spawning such bands as REM, Dreams So Real and the various acts associated with the Elephant Six collective.
