Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati is the home of the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League and was constructed in order to replace the old and out of date Riverfront Stadium that was once home to both the Bengals and Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds.

The owners of the stadium decided to buck the trend by not selling the naming rights of their stadium, naming it instead after coaching great Paul Brown who was the founder, general manager and the coach of the Bengals.

As was its goal, the stadium provided the latest technology coupled with an elegant design to provide a modern environment for the Bengals to play and train in. One of the major innovations introduced in the stadium was its playing surface. Originally using a conventional grass surface, the stadium was regarded as having one of the worst playing fields in the NFL. It was for this reason that the stadium’s owners decided to shift to FieldTurf.

The revolutionary FieldTurf is a synthetic replacement for grass that allows it to have consistent performance throughout matches and also opened up the stadium for other uses since the ground was no longer at risk of being worn out. An additional benefit of the new surface is that the line markings are a part of the ground itself which means that they do not have to be repainted as games wear on.

Other distinctive features of the stadium are that both endzones have a video scoreboard allowing fans to catch a clear view and not miss any of the action. The stadium’s design also allows 70% of the seats to be located close to the pitch providing unprecedented views of the sport. This grand stadium unique asymmetrical design provides open air views of the city’s downtown skyline and riverfront

Paul Brown Stadium also features special private suites which are enclosed in retractable glass allowing guests to choose whether they want to experience the outside atmosphere, or a quiet and secluded view of the game with the benefit of being able to have a temperature of their choosing. Suite holders are privy to premium parking opportunities, special catering options, a personalized concierge service and a special entrance.

The stadium also has a store that sells official NFL Merchandise and when it comes to food there are over 400 concessions stands.

Tickets for matches and other events can be bought from the ticket booth at the stadium. The ticket office is open from 9:00 till 5:00 PM, Mondays through Fridays. On the day of a game, the ticket office is open from 9:00 till halftime for morning games, and 12:00 noon till halftime for evening games. Tickets can also be purchased from http://www.bengals.com/stadium/facts.html
