The visitors can also discover the wide array of plant life on offer. In total the Cincinnati Zoo is currently home to about 700 species of wildlife. Often regarded as one of the top zoo’s in the country it is also famous for its breeding programs, especially with Cheetahs. In addition the zoo also has had tremendous success with breeding Sumatran Rhino’s, and holds the world’s only successful breeding program for this endangered species. The Cincinnati Zoo features a variety of rides and attractions throughout its premises. This includes a very popular train ride, tram ride and a carousel. Visitors will find a 3D Special FX theater on the premises that presents state of the art presentations featuring 3D footage coupled with other additional effects including movement, smells, and wind. Sometimes musical concerts are held at the zoo and in the past the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Opera have graced this venue with their performances. Several shopping and food options are available throughout the zoo. Visitors can find three gift shops at various points in the zoo that offer a range of souvenirs and small items. The zoo features different packages that vary in what they offer. For large groups, special packages provide reduced rates. Some cover the entire zoo’s attractions while others simply offer the rides or basic admission. The zoo features seasonal opening hours, but is always open from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm. By staying in one of the hotels near the Cincinnati Zoo such as the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati, visitors can easily access this venue. |
