Families visiting Chicago may be pleased to hear there are plenty of attractions for youngsters at a dedicated museum.

Little ones can get close to nature at the BIG Backyard, in which they will encounter enormous insects, giggling flowers and giant toadstools in this large urban garden.

Those interested in all things prehistoric may like to go on an adventure in the Dinosaur Expedition, which recreates the experience of those who discovered a fish-eating dinosaur, the Suchomimus.

Here children will be able to try their hand at digging up the creatures in an authentic excavation pit.

There are many other activities on offer to cater for all interests, such as the Kraft Artabounds Studio, Kids Town, Treehouse Trails and WaterWays.

Legoland could also be a good option for families on a trip to the city, which can be found in the streets of Woodfield next to the mall of the same name.
