News|Chicago museum to host photography exhibitionOn display at the museum, visitors, including those staying at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel, will be able to see a chronological representation of the art form, the Associated Press reports. Presented as both a creative medium and a scientific process, the show will enlighten people as to the uses of early photography, including documentation, portraits, landscapes and still life. Highlights include the work of Ansel Adams, Margaret Bourke-White, Paul Strand and Edward Weston. One of the biggest attractions at the exhibition is the portrait of Sir John Herschel, who invented the chemical process that enabled photosensitive paper to hold an image. Furthermore, a whole wall is devoted to the photographs of Walker Evans, who was the first photographer to have a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Detroit Institute of Arts was founded in 1885. Following its relocation to a site on the city's Woodward Avenue, the building has been known as the "temple of art".
