Soothing neutral colors accented with a punch of cranberry are complemented by walls finished with linen-like wallcoverings, dark Mahogany Sapele wood accents, chic Lucite bedside lamps and rich upholstery. Phase II of the restoration will take place from December 2008 through March 2009 and will focus on tranforming the hotel's lobby, dining room, Martini Bar and meeting rooms. When complete in early 2009, the new look of the public space will evoke the elegance and vivacity of the 1920's in America. Characteristic elements of Art Deco, bold metal detailing, sweeping curves and sleek ornamentation will heighten the hotel's visual impact while retro materials will add depth, character and texture to the furnishings throughout the hotel. The restoration will preserve the hotel's legendary grandeur and historic integrity while creating an improved experience for both business and leisure travelers.
