Sasa Sinanagic Named F&B Director; Hagop Hagopian New Executive Chef
CHICAGO – October 22, 2012 – The Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago is further elevating its food and beverage guest experience with the appointment of two new executives with reputations for talent and creativity. Chef Hagop Hagopian, who has been featured on network television and in major publications, brings AAA Four Diamond experience to the position of Executive Chef, while Sasa Sinanagic, a native Bosnian with impressive experience in the Chicago dining scene and a passion for wine, has been named Director of Food and Beverage.

Hagopian joins the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago from the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg, Illinois, where he was executive chef for the 470-room property, overseeing a $7 million food and beverage operation. At his last position, he influenced the design and vision of the new Fresh 1800 restaurant and established a summer Farmers Market.
A graduate of William Rainey Harper College with a diploma in culinary arts, Hagopian launched his hospitality career at the Westin O’Hare where he rose from cook to executive chef in four years. He also served as executive chef at the Deerpath Inn in Lake Forest, Illinois and Karma Restaurant in the Crowne Plaza North Shore in Mundelein, Illinois.
Hagopian has appeared in food shows on ABC, NBC and WGN and been featured in such publications as Time Out Chicago, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune and the Wall Street Journal. In 2009, he was the chef host for the Les Amis Escoffier Society’s annual dinner honoring Chef Charlie Trotter.
Prior to joining the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago, Sinanagic was wine director and manager at Lockwood Restaurant and Potter’s Lounge in the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. He was responsible for daily operations of the lounges, bars and restaurant serving three meals each day. He was previously restaurant manager at NoMI in the Park Hyatt Chicago before moving to the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco as director of food and beverage.
Sinanagic began his career with Maritim Hotels in Germany. He then moved to Chicago to work in several restaurants before joining the Fairmont Hotel as assistant restaurant and bar manager. He also served as food and beverage outlets manager for the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers. Sinanagic holds a bachelor’s degree and is actively pursuing a master’s in hospitality and tourism management from Roosevelt University, as well as sommelier certificates.
These two talented food and beverage professionals are already working together on exciting new developments to come at Nix Restaurant as well as the superb catering for weddings, galas, meetings and events.
