Klezmer act Daniel Kahn & The Painted Bird play New York

Date From 11 March 2013 To 11 March 2013
Address Gramercy Theatre, 127 E 23rd St, New York, NY 10010, United States

Daniel Kahn & The Painted Bird are a hugely entertaining band that boast a very distinct array of influences.

They are primarily a klezmer act - and this is a form of folk music that is based on the traditions of the Ashkenazic Jews of Eastern Europe.

The band claims that they mix this genre with radical Yiddish song, political cabaret and punk folk.

On March 11th, they are set to travel to New York to play a gig at the city's Gramercy Theatre.

Entry prices start at $20 plus booking fees - and visitors to the city who are hoping to catch the show may wish to consider booking rooms at the Millennium Broadway Hotel New York.

This is because the accommodation is ideally situated just over a mile-and-a-half from the venue.

The distance is easily covered in less than ten minutes by driving or jumping in a cab.
