News|Snoopy exhibition coming to BoulderFrom February 3rd until April 30th, Boulder History Museum will be displaying more than 40 high resolution prints as part of the exhibition Snoopy as the World War I Flying Ace. Created by Minnesota cartoonist Charles M Schulz, Snoopy was one of the most popular characters from his Peanuts comic strips of the 1950s. In 1965, a series of strips began to depict Snoopy imagining himself as a fighter pilot, his doghouse transformed into a Sopwith Camel airplane as he fought German forces led by the Red Baron. A trip down memory lane for those who grew up reading the comics and a chance to discover the magic that made characters such as Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Lucy so enduring, the display is recommended for the whole family. Tickets to the show cost $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for children or students. Snoopy adopted many alter-egos over the years including Joe Cool; a bow-tie waring attorney; an Olympic figure skater; and Lone Beagle, the first dog to fly across the Atlantic.
