News|Moondance International Film Festival shines on BoulderAffectionately known as the 'American Cannes', Moondance brings the year's best seen and unseen films to an audience of auteurs and cinephiles. Like any indie film festival worth its salt, there will also be a packed slate of presentations, screenings, retrospectives workshops and a gala awards ceremony. There will even be special pitching panels where amateur and independent film makers will be given the chance to convince experts that they are the next Steven Spielberg. Among the winners at this year's festival - announced for the first time before the ceremony - are features Echoes by Perinne Lievois and Hadrien Don Fayel, Ghosts of the Heartland by Allen Blumberg, documentary RFK by Mark Sobel and short film A Day in a Life by Nicolas Daenens. Anyone wishing to attend Moondance can book accommodation at a Boulder hotel for maximum enjoyment over the weekend.
