News|Screamin' Snowman Snowshoe Race blitzes BoulderNow in its ninth year, the Screamin' Snowman Snowshoe Race features hundreds of people traversing over the arctic tundra as quickly as possible. The course twists and rails around the beautiful back-country and is considered by many in the know to be the finest of its kind for snowshoe fans in the whole of Colorado. Both the five kilometer and ten kilometer events are scheduled to start at 9.45am, at the Eldora Ski Area. Registry for the event is now open to anyone who wishes to take part. There will be a variety of awards handed out to the winners of each run, as well as in a variety of different age and gender categories. There will also be a raffle giving participants the chance to win some excellent prizes. According to Racing Underground, which organises the event, a growing number of sports enthusiasts are taking up snowshoeing in order to improve their strength and speed while having fun during the winter season.
