On December 6th at 6pm, revelers will be gathering on the streets of Boulder for a fantastical hometown event.

The Lights of December Parade snakes its way across downtown Boulder and features hundreds of performers from schools, charities, civic organisations and local businesses.

With its colourful floats, festive music, fun, games and dancing, the wonderful festival draws together the entire Boulder community for the holidays.

And like any good festival worth its salt, there will be plenty of singing - Parson Brown is a particularly fun topic for the revelries.

There are all the usual food stands and concessions, including seasonal specialties such as egg nog, which goes down a treat on a chilly winter evening.

Those in town on November 29th may also enjoy visiting Boulder's official lighting ceremony. After listening holiday caroling by accapella group The Yuletiders, on-lookers will be able to witness the spectacle of the lights being turned on.

Santa may even put in a special visit if all the girls and boys are on best behaviour.
