The tenth Aerial Dance Festival got under way in Boulder this weekend and will be continuing
until August 16th.
A family-friendly event will see audience's young and old flock to Boulder hotels in Colorado
to catch a glimpse of this blitz of exciting performances.
Led by Frequent Flyers Productions' artistic and managing director, Nancy Smith, this will be
the first time many of the performance troupe's would have been seen hanging from their trademark
ropes for nearly a month, following heavy preparations.
Attendees should prepare for expertly choreographed flips, spins and awe-inspiring aerial
stunts on low-flying trapeze.
Festival organiser Ms Smith told the Colorado Daily: "There are moments of weightlessness
which are really wonderful.
"I love to spin; it's one of my more favourite experiences."
Proving that this event is beginning to shake off its gimmicky label, more than 25 aerial
dance companies are expected for this year's festival.
