The award-winning La Sconosciuta (The Unknown Woman) will be screened at Anchorage's Out North Contemporary Art House on January 30th and 31st.

Directed by Italian filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore, the haunting psychological thriller tells the story of Irena, a Ukranian woman who becomes involved with a family living in northern Italy.

Exploring contemporary issues such as human trafficking and domestic violence, The Unknown slowly reveals pieces of Irena's violent and damaged past at the same time as her present begins to unravel.

Tickets for the 7pm shows cost $7.75 online or $9 at the door. There is a $1.25 transaction fee for every ticket purchased on the internet.

Then, the Out North Contemporary Art House will be kicking off February with a production of an original play by Schatzie Schaefers.

Featuring a Hungarian castle, a bloody countess and a meth lab, Sweet is a study in addiction and the strength required to take the road to recovery.
