Lake Hood and Lake Spenard are actually the same body of water and feature the same depth of 69 feet, but are in fact classified as two different lakes. Together Lake Hood and Lake Spenard make up the world’s largest & busiest float plane base in the world.

At Lake Spenard visitors can enjoy the air show of constant take offs and landings of seaplanes while indulging in a scenic picnic. In the warm summer climate, a roped off swimming area is present as well as playground equipment, picnic tables, and a volleyball court.
