Subiya Causeway

The bridge is a step in the evelopment of the northern region of Kuwait designed to link Kuwait City with new projects in Subiya and Bubiyan.

Jaber Al Ahmed causeway will measure 37.5 km in length with a main span of 150 to 200 metres connecting with Subiya at an Jahra-Subiya road located south of the new City.

The construction ot the causeway across the bay of Kuwait connecting Shuwaik Port with Subiya New Town Development is deemed to be the fifth longest bridge in the world.

The project also includes a 27-km low level bridge across the bay, a main bridge with a span of 200m, elevated road and a 5-km approach road onshore in Subiya. To allow ships passage to the Kuwait harbour the bridge will be suspended over the channel.

It is expected that the bridge will be completed in five to six years
