The joyous Hala Festival which heralds the arrival of spring is one of the major festivals in
Kuwait. This month long festival is of special significance for Kuwaitis as the National Day and
Liberation Day of the nation of Kuwait fall in this very special month.
At this time of the year the desert sands of the Gulf nation are transformed into a
glistening green expanse with vividly coloured blooms and thriving vegetation. Migratory birds and
