Festivals in Bangkok do not come much more fun than this. The Thai Beer Festival is always a fun-filled and exciting affair with a multitude of local residents and foreign visitors alike joining in the revelry. You can find festive events relating to this theme throughout the Thai nation, but the heart of the festivities is always the capital Bangkok.
The focus of the celebrations is the months of October and November, but unlike comparable events like the German Oktoberfest, the event stretches right across to mid-January. During this time delightful weather is experienced, with the heavy monsoon a distant memory.
Fine beer and food
All of the Thai beer brewers unite to jointly create an
enthralling experience for all beer lovers. In addition to
presenting their finest tipples, the manufacturers provide a
bewildering array of Thai dishes and snacks, thereby emphasising
the compatibility of beer with Thai cuisine. The focus is mainly on
non-vegetarian specialties such as roasted and barbequed meats
including roast pork and barbequed chicken wings.
The delectable food and frothy beers are accompanied by special performances and cultural shows to please visitors. These include enchanting sound and light features and exciting live music, including jazz and pop performances.
Bangkok beer gardens
Although Bangkok boasts innumerable beer gardens during the
extent of the festival, the best known venue is located facing
Central World Plaza. Frothing mugs of choice Thai brews such as
Singha, Leo and Chang are offered, as well as a few global
favourites such as Heineken. Other well known festival venues are
the Discovery Centre on Siam Square, SCB Park Plaza at
Ratchayothin, Seri Centre on Srinakarin Road and Seacon
Square.
