The International Bangkok Motor Show has earned a reputation as a genuinely world class motor exhibition. Ever since the first edition of the extravaganza held in May 1979 at Lumpini Park the theme of the show has been to demonstrate innovative technologies and to unite distributors and manufacturers with the automobile purchasing public.
Successful show
The great success of the initial event convinced the
principal organiser Prachin Eamlumnow who was employed by Grand
Prix Magazine to witness other motor exhibitions across the globe
in order to contribute to the development of the Bangkok
International Motor Show. His untiring efforts are demonstrated by
the great success of the Bangkok show today.
The Bangkok Motor Show features numerous attractions and
events extending over 12 days. Many of the world's leading car and
motorcycle manufacturers including Ferrari, Volkswagen, Porsche,
Alfa Romeo, Austin Mini and Harley-Davidson are
represented.
Innovative ideas
The motor show highlights the latest technologies and
innovative concepts including state of the art engine technology,
concept cars and environmentally friendly 'green' energy as well as
cutting edge safety systems. Naturally many of the latest car and
motorcycle models on the market are displayed.
The Bangkok International Motor Show always strives to
present the best features of the contemporary automobile industry
to Thailand by emulating world class motor shows such as those of
Frankfurt, Tokyo, Detroit and Geneva. From modest beginnings the
Bangkok Motor Show has developed into one of the region's finest
such events, making a name for itself as a premier level
occasion.
