News|De Stijl movement exhibit continues in ParisThe exhibition, which began only last week and continues until March, will place a focus on arguably the movement's best exponent, Piet Mondrian. It takes place at the Centre Georges Pompidou in the city and has already attracted throngs of fans. Attendees will be able to study the interwoven progress of the movement and its leading figure. The retrospective look back is the very first in the country to look at what is often described as a key movement in the history of 20th century art. The gallery's official website reads: "In Paris between 1912 and 1938, Mondrian, a central figure of this avant-garde who drew from its experience, laid down a vocabulary and a new abstract visual language." De Stijl, translated as 'the style' was founded in the Netherland originally back in 1917. Book your Stay at the Millennium Hotel Paris Opéra ![]() 08/12/2011 |
