Music-lovers checked into a Paris hotel this September may wish to head for the streets on the 19th and take in the sights and sounds of the 11th annual Techno Parade.

The route for 2009 will begin at Place Denfert Rochereau in the 14th arrondissement at 12:00 BST and the parade will pass through the French capital, heading to the Latin Quarter of St Michel and St German des Pres, before crossing the Seine and ending in Bastille.

Some 150 musicians, performers and DJs, along with around 20 floats, will be taking part in the procession, which "turns up the volume and quickens the pace on Paris' streets", according to events website Whatsonwhen.

"Top DJs entertain the crowds with their mixing skills and decibel-defying sound systems," it adds, noting this year's theme is Sounds Of Istanbul.

Each year, around 400,000 people are drawn to the city for the event, which forms part of the Electronic Festival - Rendez-vous electroniques.
