News|The Musee des Arts Decoratifs in ParisThe museum holds around 150,000 objects, with the collections described as testaments to the French people, from craftsmen to industrialists, artists to collectors and the generosity of the donors. On display until October 5th is a collection of decorative pieces created during the reign of Napoleon. These include furniture embellished with forceful imagery from classical mythology, like the sphinx. Also on display until September 21st is Valentino, themes and variations, which is an exhibition of the work of the Italian Couturier Valentino Garavani. It comprises of around 200 Haute Couture Designs and will retrace the career of Valentino, who has been based in Rome since 1959 and presented his last collection in January 2008. The Musee des Art Decoratifs has many more permanent and temporary collections, so make sure you pay it a visit when you are in Paris.
