Paris film fans can soon enjoy a festival dedicated to movies made by female directors.

The International Women's Film Festival is scheduled to start on March 13th and runs until March 22nd.

Guests staying at the Millennium Hotel Paris Charles de Gaulle can attend the festival at a variety of venues including the Maison de Arts, Cinemas de Paris and Cinema La Lucarne.

The festival has been running since 1978 when it was set-up to promote films which are directed by women.

Since then the event has grown and currently includes 150 films with this year's theme addressing the politics of Europe and America.

Movies are accepted from experienced and novice filmmakers and are drawn from many genres including science fiction and horror.

Event organisers have also promised a secret special guest described as an American actress.
