Explore the history of aviation through more than 4,500 exhibits located in 3,500 square metres of exhibition space, both indoors and outside. The Luftfahrtmuseum Hannover-Laatzen has 36 aeroplanes, 673 model aeroplanes and 30 piston and turbo jet engines on display. As well as planes, visitors can inspect pilot's clothing, books, documents, carriages and vehicles. The exhibits are arranged in chronological order, with information in English and German.
In addition to the numerous civil exhibits, the museum has several military aircraft, including an original Royal Air Force Spitfire, the only surviving Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2, and the first Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8, displayed in Germany since the end of the Second World War.
