Opera fans will be very familiar with the classic Rigoletto.
However, this latest production, which is on show at the Katara Cultural Village on 16th February, may still be a surprise.
Director Michael Mayer has placed his new version of Verdi's towering tragedy in Las Vegas in 1960.
In this production, Piotr Beczala, the womanizing Duke of Mantua, is inspired by the music of the Rat Pack, while his tragic sidekick Rigoletto and her daughter Gilda have all being given a makeover.
The show is performed in Italian with English surtitles and has two intermissions.
People who are unfamiliar with Doha, may want to find some accommodation which is located nearby to the Opera House, as this will certainly help make things simpler when travelling to the show.
The Millennium Hotel Doha could be ideal for this purpose, as people can get there in 12 minutes, with an inexpensive taxi ride.
