Opera House, Doha, Qatar

Symphonie Fantastique is a programme symphony that was written by French composer Hector Berlioz in 1830.

Part of the early Romantic movement, it became popular with audiences worldwide - it no doubt particularly impressed them because it required more than 90 instrumentalists in order to be performed.

The masterpiece is still being delivered to delighted music lovers today and guests at Doha hotels can listen to it if they head to the city's Opera House on 15th June.

Conductor Rafael Payare will take the helm for the evening, which will also include presentations of Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture and Castellar's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra.

Tickets are available for 75 QAR to 300 QAR depending on seating, but anyone hoping to go is advised that some are limited in supply already.

Guests at the Millennium Hotel Doha can reach the Opera House in 14 minutes by car, so getting a taxi there and back could be the best option.
