Holidaymakers checking into a Hannover hotel will be able to watch a fiercely competitive match of handball this month.

On Sunday September 6th TSV Hannover-Burgdorf will take on HBW Balingen/Weilstetten at the AWD-Hall, with the game beginning at 15:00 local time.

Hannover's official tourist guide explained that TSV Hannover-Burgdorf recently won their promotion to the German top division in a "heart-stopping final" and fans are now keen to see them continue their success.

"Now they have to apply themselves with the same degree of determination to holding their own against Germany’s top teams," says the online guide to the city.

"Their first opponents are HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, who are expected to be among their chief rivals in the struggle to stay up in the top league."

Meanwhile, sporting fans have the option of attending an ice hockey event instead on the same day when the Hannover Scorpions will take on the Frankfurt Lions at the TUI Arena.
